#The2016GratitudeSeries (It’s A Wrap): Agaruwa Mary

Hey guys,

I’m back again today oh… It has been an amazing time so far on The 2016 Gratitude Series but it cannot just end like that without me sharing my gratitude story too.. πŸ˜€

Here’s what I’m grateful/thankful for in the entire 2016:

Gratitude Story…

Okay so my name is Mary Agaruwa, I am a Pharmacist, a content creator at ShredderGang, a radical humanitarian volunteer, as well as the blog author of MyPearlPerception.

Hmmmnnn!… my gratitude story is long oh but I’ll try my best to make it a bit concise. A whole lot happened this year that I cannot actually be thankful enough for. In a nutshell, 2016 was a year of growth and many disappointments but hey, guess what? I’m super grateful every one of them.

As at this time last year, I was very excited about and fully anticipating my graduation from Pharmacy school, after 5 years of constant stress, sleepless nights, many teary moments as well as happy moments. After the final screening, it was observed that my GST result (a general studies course I had written in 200level) was missing. As a result of that, my name was taken off the list and I was told by the school admin that I had to stay back to re-take the course, which meant an automatic extra year. I tried everything I could to avert it but all to no avail. I finally accepted my fate and hopped straight into depression. The first three months in the year 2016 were not funny at all but in all of it I’m thankful because I’ve learnt a lot, gained a couple of experiences and met a lot of amazing people that I don’t think I would have, if things had gone according to my plan.

I started job hunting after a while, in order to find my hands doing something and not whiling away time doing nothing. Things became a bit tough financially as my father cut down my allowance drastically of which I really don’t blame him for…(lol, the typical african dad, some african dads would cut off, not even cut down). Thank God for that. So I kept looking for a job and everywhere I went to for an interview, I always got a NO because I was yet to obtain my license as a Pharmacist. I prayed and asked God for a job because I didn’t want to be lazing about because His word (Proverbs 10:4) already warned about it. One afternoon after one of the interviews of which as usual it was a NO, I just gave up so I stopped by at an older friend’s place to pick up something for someone so I gisted her about my NO escapades. There and then, she made a phone call to one of her other friends who had a job vacancy for a health related personnel and I got the job without stress, a very well paying job. Like it was so funny and unbelievable at the same time. I Just knew it was God.

I passed through a few heart breaking moments from people I held dear to my heart, but it made me figure out a strength I never thought I had. It didn’t make me become bitter or love people less or shut people out. For this I’m also thankful.

I’m thankful for the self-development trainings I attended this year and for the people I met who have imparted a great wealth of knowledge in me. I don’t think I would have been opportuned to attend them if I had started my internship this year. The trainings thought me a lot and helped me develop my confidence. As a result I was privileged to speak at an event towards the end this year (whoohooo!… I had always anticipated this because I always find so much joy sharing my little knowledge with people).

I’m also thankful for MyPearlPerception blog which has been an avenue to reach out to people and change lives for good. I’m particularly thankful for this gratitude series. At some point, I didn’t think I was going to keep up with the daily postings as I had a lot on my plate this December but God took absolute control. I’m also thankful for the projects I’ve been working on asides my 9-5 job, of which one became a reality yesterday (The 2017 Gratitude Journal)… Ensure to purchase yours ohh :D. I’m thankful for the rest of them, which I know would become a reality this 2017.

So to wrap up basically, I’m thankful for spiritual growth, improved saving habits, super amazing family and friends, my mentors, an amazing boss, for all those who took out time to share their gratitude story to encourage others, for our blog followers/readers and just basically everyone out there!… You all are the real MVPs and I love you guys deeply even if I may not properly express it… :* ❀ ❀

Major Lesson Learnt in the year 2016…

One major lesson I learnt this year was ensuring to grow through all I go through and just trust every process God allows me pass through because He knows what’s best for me and can never go wrong. I also learnt to be more patient, God is still working on that area of my life although I still have to put in more conscious effort.

It’s a wrap!… Cheers to the New Year!!!!

Have a splendid, fruitful and outstanding 2017… Thank you for reading God bless you all!!!!

#The2016GratitudeSeries (Day 31): Esther Sanda

Hey guys!

It’s the Last day in the year 2016 and the second to the last feature on The 2016 Gratitude Series (yep!.. because I must share mine too, later today..lol). Featuring today is Esther Sanda.

Here’s what she’s grateful/thankful for:

Gratitude Story…

“In situations where things do not result the way you wanted it or the way you planned it, it takes a deep thinking heart to look around and still be grateful.

I am Esther Sanda by the way, I am an aspiring Lawyer and the Founder of AfriBeauty Hub. IΒ am grateful to God to be alive to write the things am grateful for.
First am grateful to God to have been able to celebrate my 25th birthday earlier in June this year, many wished to have lived to that age but one way or the other, their lives were cut short and I see it as a privileged Grace, I have not done anything special to deserve the mercy.
Secondly, am grateful to God that I finished my tenor as the Law Student Society President in peace and the faculty even deemed it fit I continue when no one picked the form again. If had been a failure, would not have even been allowed to finish the last phase to mention of starting another.
Thirdly, am grateful for the award I won this year as the “Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the year” I’m humbled that I was nominated and then won. AΒ very popular person was also nominated on the same category with me but still I won.”
Major Lesson Learnt in the year 2016…
“The major lesson learnt is that in every failure lies the capacity to be better.Β I am confident about 2017 and all the lessons I have learnt from my failure this year will make 2017 a year of Breaking-forth for me in my business, in Jesus name. Amen!
Thanks a lot and Happy New Year in advance to you all. “

Thank you Esther, Happy New Year in advance to you too… Have a Super amazing year ahead!

#The2016GratitudeSeries (Day 30): Adejare Morakinyo

Hello people!

We can’t keep calm!!!!!.. This is the last Friday in the year 2016 and we have just a day left in the year 2016… 2017 is about to go live!!!… Who’s readyyyy??? (Lemme see your hands go up…lol)

Okay so sharing with us today being the 30th day of the Gratitude Series is Adejare Morakinyo.Β

Here’s what he’s grateful/thankful for:

Gratitude Story…

“Hello everybody,

My name is Adejare Morakinyo, I am a Pharmacist as well as a Graphics designer.

Uhmmm… This year has been filled with ups and downs basically but in the midst of it all, when all seemed lost just at the last minute, God always just showed forth His hands. I’ve been in many sticky situations this year, where I would think I had reached the dead end, like no way out and every time a way just pops up for me at the last minute. It has just been amazing, I’m super grateful to God for all of it. I thank God for my family, I thank God for health, My mum fell really sick this year, she had several incidences of high blood pressure but God kept her and right now she’s really really fit and very healthy of which I was initially skeptical about that when the illness started. I’m very grateful for that.

I’m also very grateful for the kind of people I met this year. I’ve met so many people and I’ve learnt so much from them, as they have imparted so much knowledge into my life and I really appreciate that because there are some things you cannot find in books. It’s just grace if you get to meet the right set of people and they just let you in on all the itsy-bitsy secrets that just help you in one way or the other.

I thank God for friends and basically everyone close to me, I thank God that I didn’t lose anyone of them this year, everyone is alive and in good health and I thank a God in advance that we would all see 2017 together in good health.”

Major Lesson Learnt in the year 2016…

“Basically, what I’ve learnt this year is patience and the fact that it’s actually okay not to know everything at once but as long as we keep trying, everything would eventually sort itself out. This I have experienced. There may be times when everything seems hopeless, like no way out or no idea on how to go about things but a little prayer and praise does the magic. Those things eventually get sorted out.Β

I have also learnt to value people and hold them in high esteem, build bridges, burn bridges and as long as you believe in what your doing, things would always work out for your good. Thank you and I wish you all a prosperous New Year in advance.”

~ Adejare MorakinyoΒ

We wish you the same Morakinyo. Thanks a lot for sharing, God bless you! ❀

Hi guys!.. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Happy New Year in advance…

Uhmmm… So this December, we started a gratitude series on the blog scheduled to run for 31 days, where various people have been featured and have shared all that they have been grateful/thankful for in the entire year 2016, as well as a major lesson learnt. It has been super amazing so far and we have 2 features to go…Yaaayyyyyy!!! (it may eventually be 3 oh, because I want to share too..lol).Β I initially didn’t think it was going to run smoothly and this far but you know God now and how He does His things, He exceeds the expectations of humans…#ThatsHowMyPappiRolls πŸ˜‰

Concerning Gratitude… The truth is that it’s actually so easy to become ungrateful in this present age because we easily get carried away by the numerous mundane activities in life these days and forget to be grateful for the numerous blessings made available to us by God per time/season. Instead of focusing on these blessings no matter how little, we tend to rather focus on the negative challenges being faced and on what God has not “seemingly” done yet, then we feel like there’s really nothing to be grateful for. Life is like a swinging pendulum, there would always be the highs and lows, it’s really never going to be a smooth sail all through. So no matter the circumstance you find yourself in, whether good or bad, do yourself a great service by being grateful/thankful. It goes a long way to keeping you positive about the future, as well as keeping you in a sound state of mind.

In the light of this, a 2017 Gratitude Journal was created just for you, in order to be intentional about expressing your gratitude to God this coming year and also for you to be able to reflect back as time goes on. It comes in three (3) different colors (Orange, Lilac and Grey) and would be available for purchase from the 31st Β of December 2016Β (Tomorrow), at the cost of N1,200 (one thousand two hundred naira only). However, you can pre-order from today if you may want to.

I wish you a splendid and an outstanding 2017 ahead!
