Some weeks ago, I attended a youth seminar in which I was called outside for a quick interview. The interviewer talked about the high rate of crime and cultism amongst the youths, which may probably be due to the current unfavorable state of the nation (lol..it had always existed anyways). Then she asked about my opinion and what advice I had to give to the youths out there.

My reply was: “The youths actually have no excuse”. I went on by saying “an idle mind is the devil’s work shop/play ground, the youths have to get busy doing something meaningful to their lives and the world at large”.

Of a truth, an idle mind is indeed the devil’s work office/play ground. However, we can’t ignore the fact that the current state of the nation is not even smiling at all and has posed a lot of threat and confusion in the lives of many. There’s a great hike in the cost of virtually everything purchasable, salaries are being cut down, financial institutions are not recruiting for now and are laying off workers, basic amenities are not that basic anymore, things seem to be tough and so on. But there’s this saying that goes: “If there are no doors of opportunities, create one”.

The fact that you don’t have a “white collar job” yet or you’ve unfortunately been laid off from one, coupled with the current state of the nation, is not the end of the world and should not be an excuse to become a nuisance to the nation. Instead see it as an opportunity to explore the world of your creative imaginations and make a reality out them. The truth is that there’s always always something meaningful to do if only you can put away laziness, open your eyes and mind to see and configure your brain and body to act. Read edifying and character building books/write-ups, listen to edifying messages, genuinely serve in church, attend good seminars, conferences and work shops, be willing to volunteer for various organizational events because I bet you, the knowledge you’ll gain is way priceless and cannot be stolen from you. No knowledge gained is a waste and in order to stay relevant and useful, you have to keep acquiring knowledge and using the knowledge gained to help others. Also think creatively and pen down those creative thoughts and work towards making them a reality, attend master classes and do a lot of community service.

The fact that you may be jobless today doesn’t mean that you’ll be jobless forever. Get meaningfully busy, doing something that your future self will thank you for later. Set the tone now for the future you desire later. Work hard for what you want even if your efforts aren’t yielding the best results yet, in the nearest future it would definitely pay off and be like a film trick to you. (Proverbs 22:29Seest thou a man diligent in his work, he shall stand before kings and not ordinary men).
Don’t waste your time and allow your mind be a play ground for the devil. The funny thing about this devil is that he’s even diligent at what he does, he’s an expert in his handicraft, he doesn’t lay fallow doing nothing. He’s very very “actively busy” looking for people with great potentials but idle minds, to steal their potentials, kill their dreams and totally destroy the great future ahead.

So you see, the devil is busy too, what’s your excuse???!… Do not give him the chance of becoming his victim, instead victimize him by proving to him how powerless he is over your life and situation, by getting meaningfully busy!!!!..

Do not stay idle, Engage your mind, Think wide, Get creative and basically Get meaningfully busy!!!

tithes 1

(So I came across this post during the week and decided to share it here. Feel free to share as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ )

One day, a very wealthy man was walking on the road. Along the way, he saw a beggar on the sidewalk. The rich man looks kindly on the beggar & asked, โ€œHow did u become a beggar?โ€

The beggar said, โ€œSir, Iโ€™ve been applying for a job for a year now but havenโ€™t found any. U look like a rich man. Sir, if uโ€™ll give me a job, Iโ€™ll stop begging.โ€

The rich man smiled & said, โ€œI want to help u. But I wonโ€™t give u a job. Iโ€™ll do something better. I want u to be my business partner. Letโ€™s start a business together.โ€

The beggar blinked hard. He didnโ€™t understand what the older man was saying. โ€œWhat do u mean, Sir?โ€ โ€œI own a rice plantation. U could sell my rice in the market. Iโ€™ll provide u the sacks of rice. Iโ€™ll pay the rent for the market stall. Iโ€™ll even give you food allowance everyday for the next 30 days. All u have to do is sell my rice. And at the end of the month, as Business Partners, weโ€™ll share in the profits.โ€

Tears of joy rolled down his cheeks. โ€œOh Sir,โ€ he said, โ€œUโ€™re a gift from Heaven. Uโ€™re the answer to my prayers. Thank u, thank u, thank u!โ€ He then paused & said, โ€œSir, how will we divide the profits? Do I keep 10% & u get the 90%? Do I keep 5% & u get the 95%? Iโ€™ll be happy with any arrangement.โ€

The rich man shook his head & chuckled. โ€œNo, I want u to give me the 10% & u keep the 90%.โ€. For a moment, the beggar couldnโ€™t speak. When he tried to speak, it was gibberish. โ€œUh, gee, uh, wow, I mean, huh?โ€ He couldnโ€™t believe his ears. The deal was too preposterous.

The rich man laughed more loudly. He explained, โ€œI donโ€™t need the money, my friend. Iโ€™m already wealthy beyond what u can ever imagine. I want u to give me 10% of ur profits so u grow in faithfulness & gratitude.โ€. The beggar knelt down before his benefactor & said, โ€œYes Sir, I will do as u say. Even now, Iโ€™m so grateful for what uโ€™ve done for me!โ€
Each day, the beggar, now dressed a little bit better, operated a store selling rice in the market. He worked very hard. He woke up early in the morning & slept late at night. And sales were brisk, also because the rice was of good quality & after 30 days, the profits were astounding.

At the end of the month, as the ex-beggar was counting the money, & liking very much the feeling of money in his hands, an idea grew in his mind. He told himself, โ€œGee, why should I give 10% to my Business Partner? I didn’t see him the whole month! I was the one who was working day & night for this business. I did all this work! I deserve the 100% profits!โ€

A few minutes later, the rich man was knocking on the door to collect his 10% of the profits. The ex-beggar opened the door & said, โ€œ U donโ€™t deserve the 10%. I worked hard for this. I deserve all of it!โ€ And he slammed the door.

If u were his Business Partner, how would u feel???

But this is exactly what happens to us. God gave us everything. He gave us life, every single moment, every single breath, every single second. God gave us talents, our ability to talk, to create, to earn money. God gave us our body, our eyes, our ears, our mouth, our hands, our feet, our heart , HE gave us our mind, our imagination, our emotions, our reasoning, our language. God gave us opportunities, some taken some lost. God put us in positions, he gave us all we have to make the wealth. YET we take all of it for granted walking on the earth with pride as if we are self made ? We forget His immeasurable bounties & become ungrateful using the very same blessings He gave us to sin & throw back at Him.

The big question is, which of the favors of our Lord would we deny? When will we turn back to Him with gratitude & obedience? God has granted us all the opportunity to always remember Him and pay our tithes, offering, alms and first fruit. Sow a little kindness today by sharing dis message.

Hi guys! Good morning,

This is a quick one… So I was just thinking about pain killers and how they work in the human body system. They basically just numb pains and make the person feeling pains unaware of it until it subsides and finally stops. In order words, because a person takes pain killers and feel relieved does not necessarily mean that there’s absence of the pains, like I said earlier it numbs pains and if you’ve noticed after the medication wears off, the person falls back to feeling the same excruciating pain(s). Now, this is basically likened to divine peace.

Divine peace is just like the pain killer. The out pouring of divine peace into the life of a person passing through a stormy or chaotic phase in their life is usually so effective and evident. This is the reason why you’ll see someone who must have lost his/her job, lost a loved one, failed an examination or is faced with some sort of great disappointment still being jolly, despite the loss. But this does not mean that they aren’t passing through a tough phase at that moment. The same way the pain killers numb the pains and makes the person unaware of the pains, is the same way the grace of divine peace from the Prince of Peace(Jesus) numbs the pains and sorrows experienced during great losses or tough times as mentioned above (Psalm 119:165). It is important to note that experiencing divine peace does not necessarily cause the eradication of the storm but instead, be sure for it to cause the presence of an unexplainable calmness, rest and overwhelming joy during the season of the storm.

In order to access that sort of grace, you ought to know the One(our Lord Jesus Christ) who gives it freely to those who are in need of it and ask (Matthew 7:7, Philippians 4:7-6). It’s not enough to just ask once and keep quiet. You’ll have to constantly ask for the grace to receive such peace of mind from Him during and even after that stormy phase. Peace of mind is priceless and should be obtained. It shouldn’t be traded for anything in this world.

Point focus/Prayer: Ask God to come into your life and reveal more of Himself to you, that you may experience His divine peace like never before. ( See also:ย John 16:33, John 14:27, Isaiah 26:3.ย Meditate and pray these scriptures back to God. Remember He honors His words more than His name).

Have a fabulous and peaceful day!.. ๐Ÿ™‚
