THE 21ST CENTURY CHRISTIAN (You can’t eat your cake and still have it all)

It sincerely burdens my heart to know that there are followers of Christ who think or are comfortable with the fact that they “Can Eat Their Cake And Still Have It All”.
God is outrightly looking for disciples, people who are willing to empty their vessels for His use, people who are Totally willing to deny themselves, willing to let go of themselves and take up their crosses and follow him. (Matthew 16:24, 2Timothy 2:20-22).
The truth is that you can’t serve/walk with God and still hold hands with the devil. It isn’t possible but unfortunately this is very rampant majorly amongst the youth population in this 21st century/generation, hence the “21st century Christian”. You have to choose a side (God’s Side or the devil’s side) and be totally diligent/loyal on the chosen side. There’s no room for sitting on the fence, there’s no room for the one-leg-in, one-leg-out supposedly Christian. Like a Youth Pastor recently preached in my church; he said, if you want to sin/live an ungodly life, do it well with all diligence, rather than living a double standard life and claiming to be for Christ. There shouldn’t be room for sugar-coating God’s word. (2Timothy 4:1-4)

2Timothy 2:19 says: But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

If you say you love God, let it show in your lifestyle and daily character, let it be soo evident and glaring that you don’t even need to announce to the world before they can see it in you. This is basically what being the light of the world means. You radiate God’s light in your life and it’s so evident that people also become illuminated by the light you radiate. God is looking for people who diligently seek him, who sincerely desire him, who truly love Him and are willing to serve Him and worship Him in truth and in spirit. In my previous post on LOVE, precisely the second to the last post on the blog, I made mention of Love being an active and not a passive virtue, of Love being impossible without proofs, of Love being proved by actions and not words or intentions. So if you say you love God, let your whole life express it because you can’t in actual sense love God and love the things he hates or disobey Him and do the things he frowns at. (Psalm 97:10).

I’m not saying temptations and trials will cease or sometimes you won’t fall short, but what really matters in these situations are: your attitude and willing heart to still stand firm for Him no matter what, your attitude to still hold on to His word, your attitude to immediately and outrightly report yourself to Him with a humble and sincere heart and your attitude to ask for His forgiveness. He’ll surely forgive you and help teach you to overcome, nevertheless, despite Him being a merciful Father, we should also be careful not to take Him/His mercies for granted. For instance, sometimes you hear people say: “ehhh shey if I sin, I’ll ask God for forgiveness and He’ll forgive me since He’s faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.. Like, they’ll be quoting the Bible on top to justify their wrong motives and actions which is not fair to God. (Romans 6:1-2). Instead strive not to sin. God sees the effort we make and trust me He acknowledges the so seemingly little efforts we make and helps us get better.

My plea and reason for this post is that we should practice what we preach. If you say you stand for Christ, let your life as a whole depict it. This is glaringly the end time and the devil is trying so hard to ensure that every single soul gets a free pass to hell. He’s prowling and working tremendously hard to mask and sugar-coat the actual Christian life, making it seem like we can strike a balance between the worldly life and the Christ-like life. Like I said earlier, you can’t walk with God and still choose to hold hands with the devil. Christianity is not as hard as people perceive it to be (thus many people run away from it). Don’t run!.. There are basic guidelines that make it easy of which all are embedded in The Holy Bible. I struggled with getting deep into the whole “Christianity thing” because I thought it to be soooooooooo hard that I wasn’t going to cope once I got really into it. At about that same period, a lady stranger called me after a church service, had me bring out my Bible and told me that ALL I needed to know about my walk in this life is in my Bible that I should use it. It still didn’t make much sense to me, I mean, “why would I be reading the Bible that’s quite boring and in what way was it going to add to me or help my life?” (My thoughts back then) but it began to make correct sense when I finally gave my life to Christ. Truthfully speaking, the little extent to which I’ve been reading my Bible, has been helping me in my daily life and walk with God. I’m far from perfect but I strive daily for perfection.
Don’t give up or accept the devil’s proposal of striking a balance. Keep striving, God’s side is the winning and easier side. (Matthew 12:30)

Although, all I have written or all you are reading won’t make much sense/difference if you don’t swing into action and if you’re not on a good standing with God. You can ask Him quietly wherever you are to forgive you in any way you’ve defaulted, tell Him you want him to completely run the affairs of your life, tell Him to help you overcome the the princes of this world, that He should help you outrightly stand for Him no matter what and make your lifestyle an evident expression of His Grace in Jesus’s precious name. Amen!!!
Please don’t hesitate to share to as many people as you can. Have an amazing weekend!.. 😀😀
